At K9Pro, our private lessons focus on the skills you want to develop. Whether you are starting with a puppy, teaching an older dog or improving training you have already begun, we work with you and the dog in front of us.

Training that fits your goals

Your sessions can focus on one skill or a combination of everyday needs, including:

  1. Lead walking. Teaching your dog to walk with you on a loose lead.
  2. Recall. Building your dog’s response to being called and progressing around suitable distractions.
  3. Everyday obedience. Developing skills such as sit, down, stay and going to a bed or place.
  4. Calm behaviour at home. Teaching settling skills and building useful household routines.
  5. Polite greetings. Helping your dog learn how to greet people with better manners.
  6. Focus and engagement. Helping your dog pay attention and respond to you as distractions increase.

One on one coaching for you and your dog

Training works best when you understand what to do, why it matters and how to continue practising.

We explain the skills, demonstrate where needed and coach you through the practical work. You can ask questions, receive feedback and learn how to make your communication clearer.

The aim is to give you the handling skills and understanding to keep making progress between lessons.

Build skills for everyday life

Every dog learns at a different pace. We consider your dog’s age, temperament, motivation, existing training and the situations in which you need the skills to work.

We help you build a clear foundation, then progress the training as your dog is ready. Practical lessons can include reward timing, motivation, lead handling and working around appropriate distractions.
