Board and Train

We have one of the most successful Board and Train Programs in the Country.

We are often presented with highly aggressive dogs that have not improved even after a considerable amount of training with others.

Our Board and Train program is quite unique in its design, it’s a two phase program which we first take the dog and assess, teach, train, manage, and alleviate problem behaviours. The second phase is “owner education” This is where we run a course for you to teach you all about your dog, how to handle, manage, motivate and maintain your dog’s newfound behaviour patterns.

Below are some of, but not limmited to, programs we have on offer.

LIFE SKILLS AND OBEDIENCE PROGRAMS

Our Life Skills and Obedience programs are tailored towards owners of dogs or puppies who need a head start with implementing life skills, obedience and manners.

Our Life Skills Packages include appointments for you at the end of the program when your dog is ready to be picked up. 

These appointment packages range from 4hrs to 10hrs.

Please note: Our Life Skills and Obedience Programs do not include any behaviour modification, aggression rehabilitation or similar training. If your dog requires assistance with aggression or behavioural issues, please refer to our Behaviour Modification Programs instead.

BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION PROGRAMS

Our Behaviour Modification Programs are tailored for dogs who struggle with ingrained behaviour problems like lack of impulse control, reactivity, anxiety,aggression towards other dogs, severe aggression towards people, dominance/rank aggression, resource guarding, redirected aggression and bad behaviour.

Our behaviour modifications are extremely detail orientated programs and each program is customised along the way to fit in with the dog’s capabilities, progression, needs and to try to align as best as we can with the goals of the owner.

Our Behaviour Modification Packages include consultations for you to attend when your dog is ready to be picked up at the end of the program.

IN HOME BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAMS

K9 Pro offers tailored In Home Board and Train Programs.

Meaning that rather than staying at the K9 Pro facility each night, your dog will go into the home of one of our trainers.

This allows them to practice the life skills in a real-life environment each day. This is an intensive program and allows us to “live” with your dog.

Our In Home Board and Train Programs are a great option for those who have a puppy and would like their puppy to have a head start with life skills training and socialisation, those who have an assistance dog and would like to improve their skills or build certain behaviours, those who have a dog or puppy that simply lacks impulse control or engagement, or even for those who are going on holidays and would like their dog to stay with one of our trainers whilst being trained and polishing up on life skills, engagement and socialisation.

BOARD AND TUNE

For existing clients

We offer Board and Tune as a booking option for existing clients whose dog has attended one of our Board and Train Programs or those who are currently undertaking regular training with K9 Pro.

Board and Tune is a great option if you would like to polish your dog’s existing skills, or you are going away and would like your dog to have some training during their boarding stay.
