Assistance Dog Programs

Many individuals benefit from having an assistance dog, and there are many more who could benefit if given the opportunity.

However, we often see individuals struggling when attempting to self-train their assistance dogs, leading to many dogs being unable to complete their training after months or even years.

Additionally, some individuals have dogs that are performing well, but they face challenges in gaining access to certain places such as workplaces, schools, or universities, due to stringent requirements or restrictions.

The varying laws regarding Assistance Dogs in each state can also add to the confusion.

Our program is designed to address these challenges and provide comprehensive support to individuals in need.

Meet Addy, our dedicated Assistance Dog Consultant. Addy brings a wealth of experience to her role, having trained dogs for many years. She is currently being mentored by Steve and has completed extensive Masterclasses and ongoing studies.

Addy’s own assistance dog, Herzhund Light in the dark (Sirius), a Labrador from our breeding program, provides her with firsthand experience in selecting and training the right puppy for assistance work.

Addy can assist you in various areas, including but not limited to:

  • * Existing Assistance Dog Consultations
  • * Guidance on starting Assistance Dog Training
  • * Education on laws, regulations, and your rights regarding Assistance Dogs in public places
  • * Assistance with puppy selection and the first four weeks of training at home
  • * General lessons covering life skills, obedience, and task training for assistance dogs
  • * Problem-solving for challenges you may encounter with your assistance dog
  • * Helping business owners and organisations better understand Assistance Dogs in their environments.
  • * Liaise between Assistance Dog Owners and organisations to help parties work together.

Our goal is to provide you with the support and guidance you need to ensure a successful partnership with your assistance dog.

Addy provides Video and in-person consultations.
